Launching the Christmas events, Chair of Communities and Wellbeing Committee Councillor Thomas Beckett commented, “I am delighted that Santa will be visiting Lisburn & Castlereagh once again this year.  I have heard he is especially excited to take up residence in his new, sparkling grotto at Dundonald International Ice Bowl and looks forward to meeting lots of children and their families this season.

We are pleased as a council to host a range of festive events to give all children the opportunity to enjoy a special day out over the festive period and capture memories that will last a lifetime.

The Lagan Valley LeisurePlex Rockin’ Round the Christmas Tree Silent Christmas Disco is a brand-new event and suitable for children aged 4 – 13 years. Tailored specifically for children with autism spectrum disorders and those with sensory sensitivities, this ticketed event is likely to be well received.

The Santa Dash at Lough Moss Leisure Centre is always well attended with proceeds raising funds for the Mayor’s chosen charity, Cancer Fund for Children, which provides support to children and young people facing cancer or living with a parent facing cancer.

I would urge everyone to have a look at the range of events happening throughout December as there really is something for everyone.”
