Dundonald Ice Bowl Hosts First Pro-am Bowling Event 23 October 2026 The country’s top bowlers have been showcasing their tenpin bowling experience at the first ever Pro-am event, which was held at Dundonald International Ice Bowl on Wednesday 21st October. The event was hosted as part of the prestigious Irish Tenpin Bowling Tournament which is taking place at the facility until Sunday 25th October. The Pro-am was attended by local community groups, sports clubs and disability groups who enjoyed a fantastic night of friendly competition and entertainment. Each lane was championed by a member of Tenpin Ireland who bowled for selective teams to try and win a lucky strike. Downtown Radio DJ Glen Pavis was at hand to compere the event and there were prize giveaways and Karaoke to get everyone in the party spirit. The winner of the Pro-am was presented to Causeway Coast Special Olympics team with a score of 796. Tullycarnet Football Club coaches picked up both second and third prizes with a score of 657 and 628 respectively. Presenting the prizes and bowling at the event, Councillor Sharon Lowry, Chair of the Communities and Wellbeing Committee said, “It was fantastic to see so many community groups and organisations enjoying a great night and seeing so many smiling faces on the lanes. There were lots of high scores and challenges from the Tenpin Ireland team and everyone who took part went home with a medal. The Pro-am is part of the Irish Open Tenpin Bowling tournament and it marks the last major bowling competition to be held in our current centre before the exciting move to our brand-new facility next year. While there are many wonderful memories associated with this centre, we are very much looking forward the scale of sporting events which can be hosted in the new centre. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tenpin Ireland for supporting the Pro-am and I wish the team best wishes for the big final on Sunday.”
