Applications Now Open For Sports Funding 2023

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has launched a small grants fund for constituted Sports Clubs and other voluntary groups, as a means to support an area of development within your club.  Projects must take place between September 2023 and March 2024.

The ‘Sports Club Accelerator’ Fund will help cover costs such as:

• Sports Equipment (Not clothing merchandise or kits)
• Marketing of club
• Facility hire to deliver program
• Hire of coaches to deliver program
• Club Development Officer Post
• Up-skilling of coaches/volunteers through Coach Education courses and workshops

Launching the ‘Sports Club Accelerator’ Fund, Chair of the Communities & Wellbeing Committee, Councillor Thomas Beckett said: “The council recognises the current financial pressure that sports organisations are facing during these unprecedented times of economic uncertainty. It is wonderful to be able to offer the third year of this fund. The 2023 ‘Sports Club Accelerator’ Fund will provide an invaluable opportunity for eligible sports clubs and voluntary groups to avail of financial support which can be used in many ways by the clubs. In particular, we would encourage applications for projects which target under-represented groups or health inequalities as well those that aim to counteract anti-social behaviour.”

Online applications open Monday 3rd July 2023.

The closing date for applications is Friday 18th August at 4pm.
