VISITOR ADVICE - ICE SKATING

Below is a guide to help keep both our customers and staff safe:

  • Please click here for revised session times.
  • Pre-booking and payment for all ice skating sessions is recommended. Walk-ins are permitted, pending availibility.
  • Bookings can be made up to 30 minutes prior to the start of the session time via the Ice Bowl website www.theicebowl.com and the Vitality Member App.
  • To meet government guidelines for gathering limits and social distancing, numbers on the ice are restricted to 75 people per session at this stage.
  • Spectator seating is available for customers who have a paying family member on the ice.  The total capacity for spectator seating is restricted to 20 people and customers must only use the designated seating which is clearly marked on the front row. Social distancing must be observed between non-family members.  No skates are permitted in the area.
  • To avoid queues customers are asked to arrive 10 minutes before their session time.
  • Customers must use the hygiene stations available throughout the centre and adhere to the one way system in operation throughout the centre, ice rink and spectator area.
  • Skate hire is available and customers are advised to follow the social distancing signage for the appropriate kiosk when collecting and returning skates.
  • Skating aids are available for the use of young children on the ice. Penguin skating aids are available for children under 1.2 metres in height (with skates) while snowmen are available for children between 1.2 metres and 1.5 metres (with skates). Skating aids will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
  • Customers should skate anti-clockwise and observe safe social distancing on the ice. No jumps to be performed during public ice time.
  • Customers are advised to wear clothing which is warm and comfortable, including gloves, warm socks, long sleeved tops and trousers. We would also encourage patrons to wear appropriate safety gear, e.g. helmets, elbow and knee pads. No scarves or loose clothing are to be worn. No headphones, mobile phones or electronic devices are permitted on the ice.
  • For a full copy of the public skating safety rules please visit www.theicebowl.com/activities/ice-skating/rules-ice-skating/
  • Customers are reminded that they should not travel to centres if they or anyone in their household have Covid-19 symptoms.  If a customer feels unwell during their visit, they are advised to speak to the Duty Manager on site immediately.

We are excited to reopen our doors to Northern Ireland’s only public Olympic size ice rink. Things will look a little different when you arrive so here is a little snippet of what you can expect!
