Ulster Way - Discover the Ulster Way and journey through Castlereagh's scenic countryside with its green fields and rolling hills.  Along your walk you will find historic churches, an ancient ring fort, Cregagh Glen and Belvoir Forest Park.

Comber Greenway - Walk or cycle from Comber to Belfast on the traffic free Comber Greenway.  Enjoy a 7 mile section of the National Cycle Network running along the old railway line which closed in 1950.

Shopping  - Enjoy some retail therapy at Forestside Shopping Centre with a wide range of retail outlets.

 

Sightseeing

Stormont - Parliament Building and seat of the NI Assembly, this is an excellent example of Neo-classical architecture.  Built in 1928 the magnificent buildings and beautifully landscaped gardens are well worth a visit

The Old Motte - The name Dundonald 'The Fort of Donal' derives its name from the great Motte which stands in the centre of the village.  Close by is also the Church of St Elizabeth which dates back to 1306.  The cemetery contains several finely carved early slate gravestones and Doric style mausoleums

Lock Keeper's Cottage - The recently restored cottage was the home to the Lock Keeper who played a vital role in NI's industrial heritage.  Visitors can enjoy a tour of the cottage and also stop off for refreshments in the Lock Keeper's Inn
